Oscar SpyMan (and preclude to more posts)

What can I say? This picture is absolutely priceless. I stole it from Kenna's blog, but as you can see, I simply had to share it with everyone! Here's the story:

Oscar is starting to roll over and pull himself up. I wouldn't be surprised if he's not crawling now as I type. He's that close (brace yourself Kenna). However, he can't pull himself up and see over the top of the crib. Oscar needs to be part of everything, and when they put him down, he doesn't like that too much. He likes to be part of everything: Especially what his mommy is doing.

Oscar's crib has this cushiony stuff all around it. There is one little spot, that he can pull himself up and look out. :)

Last week, I went down for Stephen's graduation (more on that later, otherwise this post will be an epic). Oscar weighs 20 pounds. Yes, 20. No wonder Kenna looks so good, she's constantly working out. Kenna can hold Oscar (and he's NOT tiny) in her left arm, loop her left hand up and steady his bottle. Then, she has her right hand free to do whatever she needs to do. We're talking athlete prowess here.

At any given moment, Oscar will reach up and try to take the bottle. In fact, he did for a few minutes while I was watching. With incredible skill, Kenna can dodge his efforts to knock the bottle away while still keeping Oscar securely held in place. It's quite amazing.

Oscar is 100% boy. He's HUGE, and if he's hungry--the entire world knows about it. He can down 2-3 bottles in one sitting. And, you'd better be quick with the next bottle, or he'll let you know your delivery speed is not quick enough. Despite his mother's best efforts, his hair will not stay down. He loves to try out different tones, volumes and sounds with his cool voice box. He blows spit bubbles, tries to talk and sing with his favorite program (they have this learning program on the computer that he LOVES). He sits in his chair and watches his program--keeping an ever vigilant awareness where Kenna is at all times. But, it does give her a chance to get dressed in the morning! :) Oscar likes to sing with his program, you can hear him "singing" all the way down in the kitchen. If you've ever been to Kelly's house, you know that's quite a distance.

I was holding Oscar at Stephen's graduation. As long as I stood near Kenna, he was great. So, I was a bit of a shadow to Christian and Kenna. I was standing next to Christian (who was next to his wife), and Oscar started hitting his dad. I turned to Christian and said, "I'm not the one pounding on you."

Christian looked down and swept up his son proclaiming, "I felt those piercing claws!"

Oscar laughed and stayed with his daddy for a few minutes. The next time I glanced over, Oscar was in Kenna's arms. Right where he wanted to be, the whole time!

Next post: Ella. Our quiet little lady, without one pretty little detail out of place. Peter says she cries, but I haven't heard it yet. She quietly watches everything and everyone (especially Oscar).

Too cute! It sounds like Oscar and Luke would get along great!
